Whenever we witness a gora tourist in Pakistan, it is almost impossible that people would roll down their car windows to have a look at them. Even some would go to them to just get a picture clicked! This only puts all such tourists in an awkward situation. They can’t roam around freely when they are being looked at by every person around. Probably the only reason why not many people choose to visit Pakistan. But here’s someone who did turn the tables when she traveled to Pakistan and never felt like an outsider at all!
The former goodwill ambassador to Pakistan Cynthia. D Ritchie came to Pakistan two years back and visited KPK, Lahore, Sindh and shared her photos on Twitter along with a Q&A session with people. The people warmly welcomed her and appreciated her efforts to be one of the Pakistani! She said that no doubt that there are problems in Pakistan but we have more similarities than differences. So, she was invited in Mazaak Raat and was asked about her president Trump to which she said that, “Meri president pagal hai” and when she was asked about what’s the most heard phrase ever since she has come to Pakistan, her reply was cracking!
It was: “Mujhy kyun nikala”

Look at her clarity and fluency in Urdu! She’s a true Pakistani, maybe more Pakistani than us! Cynthia engages with people in Pakistan like her own. She loves Pakistan more than an average Pakistani. Loved her! No?
