The last week has changed the complete landscape of affairs in the most historic place of the world, Saudi Arabia. Muhammad Bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia and King Salman’s son, has taken the country in his grip, completely.
Being dubbed as the ‘Saudi Royal Flush’, Muhammad Bin Salman has taken over all affairs of the country. Just a couple of month ago, MBS was only the Minister of Defence, not even the crown prince. But with a fool-proof plan, he is soon to become the only authority in the country and the Gulf.
On Saturday, 11 Royal Saudi princes, 4 current ministers and dozens of former ministers and influential billionaires were detained in an anti-corruption probe in the country. The same day, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri was forced to resign, and the event took place in Riyadh, not Beirut.
On Sunday morning, a prominent prince of Saudi Arabia died in a helicopter crash near the Yemeni border of Saudi Arabia. So how do all these incidents link? What is the common cause among all of them? Just one, it’s Muhammad Bin Salman (MBS).
Among those arrested in the purge were media tycoons and two sons of late King Abdullah. So now, MBS is set to take over the throne, with the media, the ministry of defense, the national guard, and future of the country completely in his hands. All the other influential contenders have been sidelined for multiple reasons.
It is being predicted with all this power, MBS is going to attack Hezbollah soon, as they are proud allies of Iran and anti-Saudi Arabia — also because Riyadh was attacked this same week. With all the power of the world in his hand and the backing of the US President Donald Trump, Muhammad Bin Salman is set to bring out a new image of Saudi Arabia in the world.
Previously, MBS had set it straight that Saudi Arabia, in the future, would be showcasing a new approach which revolves around modern Islam. Saudi Arabia has already allowed women to drive and soon, the country will be open to cinemas and concerts. Saudi Arabia’s future now completely rests in the hands of Muhammad Bin Salman.
