The most scandalous and highlighted case in recent times, the Qandeel Baloch murder case is finally taking shape. The social media starlet who was strangled to death by her brother might finally be on the path to claiming justice.

Fouzia Azeem, alias Qandeel Baloch, was an unorthodox artist, something Pakistan had never seen before. Her videos with semi-sexual content did not go too well with the country’s conservative mindset and in return, she had to pay with her life.

Previously, renowned Mufti Abdul Qavi had been reprimanded by the police in the Qandeel murder case as the whole charade started when Qandeel leaked videos of the Mufti and her sitting inside a hotel. That was the moment she stepped on the road to her own death.

Mufti Abdul Qavi had been ordered to take a polygraph (lie detector) test under the custody of the police, in which, the religious cleric failed miserably. According to 92 news, sources in the Forensic Agency claimed that Mufti Abdul Qavi could not even answer basic questions without resorting to lies, which the test indicated. The main question that he failed to answer truthfully was whether he was involved in Qandeel’s murder, to which he lied and said no.

Apart from failing the lie detector test, almost 40 immoral and obscene videos were present on the Mufti’s phone, while also indications that he had been involved in other immoral activities. Even deleted videos were recovered from his phone.

Qandeel Baloch by now has met her maker and her legacy is being visualized through different media formats, with a touch of support from Pakistan’s not-so-conservative public.

As for Mufti Abdul Qavi, recent incidents prove that indeed, he was involved in the murder of Qandeel Baloch — with many claiming that he forced Waseem, Qandeel’s brother, to murder his sister in the name of honor.
