Panama-Leaks, the talk of the town for over a year, especially in Pakistan, made standout revelations about tax evasion and erosion of famous personalities all over the world. The document included many Pakistanis, including the former PM of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif.

After a long battle of tug of war, the Supreme Court of Pakistan finally disqualified the Ex-PM on the basis of corruption after not declaring assets that were stated in the Panama Papers — mainly the London flats. The Panama case has taken a new turn, however.

The lead investigator of the Panama Papers, Daphne Caruana Galizia, died after a car bomb exploded in Malta. The bomb was planted inside her car, which was a Peugeot 108. The world often called her a ‘one-woman-wiki-leaks’, showing how detailed and factual her investigations were.

Many famous personalities all over the world, especially the journalistic consortium, have labeled Daphne’s death as a political murder, which means that she was killed for her work — i.e Panama Leaks.

Malta’s president, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, asked people to remain calm. “In these moments, when the country is shocked by such a vicious attack, I call on everyone to measure their words, to not pass judgment and to show solidarity,” she said.

Daphne had made many enemies all over the world due to the diligence of her work, exposing huge names, especially powerful political leaders. The sole reason Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was ousted out of power was due to her and the ICIJ’s work. Similar happened to other world leaders including the PM of Iceland.

The investigation into Daphne’s murder has started and people believe that if the murder is investigated reasonably, the culprits would be unmasked and it would make some shocking revelations about who they were. Some using social media have even gone to the extent of blaming Pakistan’s former PM for her death, as he fought the hardest and still lost.
