Regardless of what your notion might be, it is a fact that Pakistan sure knows how to celebrate something meaningful in full swing. This year’s independence celebration was no less than a feast to watch. From the Wagah Border parade to the air-show held in Islamabad – Pakistanis celebrated the 70th birthday of this beautiful nation in a remarkable way.

This independence day was the first under Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Being his first of many, the COAS made sure he set a record on this day. On 14th August 2017, South Asia’s tallest flag was hoisted on the Wagah Border.

At midnight as soon as the clock struck 12, COAS inaugurated the 400-feet tall pole where the 120 feet by 80 feet long flag of the country was seen waving.

It indeed is a proud moment for Pakistanis who started another eventful year by achieving this record.

“Some 77 years ago, Pakistan resolution was passed in the same city [Lahore]. Pakistan came into being on the night of 27th Ramazan — it was a blessed night.” – Chief of Army Staff Bajwa.

While the Pakistanis love how the country hosts the tallest flag in South Asia, the Indians are taking it as a threat. According to reports released by Indian national channels and publications, this poll was made to “spy” on their country. Essentially, they believe that the location of the flag, which is on the Wagah Border proves their point that the Pakistanis made this poll to spy on India.

The Indian agencies are also claiming that this is also a violation of an international treaty.

The Indian reports are calling this flag as the “jasoos flag“. Pakistanis have stated the flag and the poll was made in Pakistan. However, the Indian reports, without any proof, are stating both these items were made in China and the flag alone costs 7 to 8 crore rupees.

Additionally, they have said that High-Resolution vision cameras are installed on the flag to spy on India. The Pakistanis, however, have made no comments on the accusations made by Indians.
