The world of showbiz in Pakistan has seen one scandal after the other. What was a fantastic, stable industry in the 70s, saw its downfall from their on. However, during the course, showbiz has seen many friends and enemies in the making.

Once best friends, now arch enemies – this is the story of film-star Laila and Meera, both who have had partially successful yet impeccably controversial and scandalous careers.

In a recent video that surfaced on the internet, film-star Laila could be making some serious allegations against Meera, who has been under the spotlight for over a decade. In the video, Laila raided a press conference and started crying vehemently, stating that Meera had ruined her life.

The two were once best friends, who shared a lot of different possessions. However, as per Laila, Meera tricked her took everything from her, including her brand new car, properties, projects, friends, family and even her boyfriend.

She further said that media did not take notice of the atrocities that were being committed against her. The most serious allegation she laid down was that Meera and others close to her were ‘slow poisoning’ her with medicine. In the video, she seemed extremely upset with the media, that while they used to adore her when she was famous, they did not come to her aid when she needed exposure.

There was a time when Meera had even announced that she was going to make Laila her sister-in-law, which means Meera’s brother was to marry her. However, nothing as such ever happened. Laila, who is currently battling life and her lost stardom, seemed dismantled and broken — somebody who is in dire need of both help and rehabilitation.

This is not the first time celebrities have been treated differently by the media in Pakistan. When they and their life story is of use, they are put in the limelight. As soon as their careers start fading, so does the attention – both good and bad.
