Humans feel nice when they get to know justice is prevailing around them. However, when an innocent is prosecuted, it makes us furious and sad. In Rahim Yar Khan, the alleged beating of an innocent to death has been reported.

A 20-year-old student of a technical institute was reportedly beaten to death. Asif, who used to work part-time at Ameena Jamal Medical Complex, was found dead.  The hospital authorities told his father Hussain Baksh, that Asif had drunk poison and is in Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan.

In a statement, Published in dawn news Hussain said: Dr Farhan Qureshi of Amna Jamal Hospital — who is also an assistant professor of urology at SZMCH — along with Dr Rizwan Qureshi, Muhammad Nazim, Furqan Saleem, Muhammad Tahir, and Abid Hussain gave Asif a thrashing on the accusation that he had stolen Rs10,000.”

Pakistan is an Islamic country with more than 96% Muslim population. The constitution of Pakistan depicts Islamic laws and Islam teaches humanity and good manners. The behaviour of above-mentioned doctors is averse to Islamic teachings. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “Show mercy to those on earth, and god will show mercy to you.”
Even if Asif was found guilty of theft, doctors were not supposed to punish him as it is the domain of court and the police. The accusations of Hussain Baksh are quite horrible. Moreover, the act of doctors is against Islam and the culture of Pakistan. If the doctors had done this, they should be prosecuted as per law.
Hussain Baksh has launched a Fir against the alleged doctors and Police has arrested all the nominated doctors.  The accused doctors are charged with sections 302, 149 and 148  of the Pakistan Panel Code. However, the complete scenario will be revealed after the postmortem report.

Why so many social crimes?

The growing crime rate in Pakistan is the perfect example of social imbalances. According to Emile Durkheim, confusion in social principles lead to deviancy which further leads to crime.

The way forward

Hopefully, In the Naya Pakistan, the government will focus on social issues as all the problems are begotten from social deviancy. Moreover, Islamic scholars should educate the masses of human rights how Islam prescribes practicing of compassion. Besides, the government should add Seerah of the prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the curriculum of adolescents students in order to make learn humility.
