Another case of physical abuse comes to light but is of a different nature. This time it isn’t between a husband and a wife, in fact, the abuse was directed at one’s own mother.
Khoon Safaid Hogaya
Khoon safaid hogaya is how the traditional media is calling it and it couldn’t be phrased better. The dispute was over property that led to a daughter along with her husband physically torture her own mother in Lahore. The victim Fauzia Haroon stated that one of her two daughters, along with the son-in-law and a land grabber by the name Amir, barged into the house she has rightfully inherited from her late husband (a minorities minister) who was assassinated.
Disturbing CCTV Footage Surfaces
This CCTV footage made headlines when it started circulating on social media platforms on Thursday. The video shows several people that are surrounding the victim. One of the men starts manhandling her in the most disturbing way. Two men that were already there at the premises, later identified as her domestic workers, out of which one tried to stop the assault. He was stopped by Hina who is seen pushing him and pointing a finger towards him, as she speaks to him in an aggressive manner; One could assume she is warning them to stay away from helping her.
The man who is seen shoving her around, pushing her to the ground and literally maar raha hai is identified as Aamir Gujjar (the land grabber). And while he continued on with his behavior, he ended up breaking her arm. She is seen crying to which her daughter showed no mercy towards. According to Fauzia, her daughter Hina and son-in-law wanted a bigger share in the property and carried out this attack with the help of land mafia. She has filed a case against the oppressors.
“They have been abusing me despite the legal proceedings. I have a whole record of complaints to police. I used to call 15 [the emergency contact number]. My complaints were registered online but to no avail.”
As they were leaving Fauzia narrates that they threatened her to hand over the property or else they will finish her off. They also threatened the helpers to not act as her witnesses or else they will be faced with consequences. Moreover, she told that the daughter and son-in-law stole her Honda Civic car and valuable jewelry from her. And upon reaching out to the police she was met with disappointment, as no one was willing to look at her case.
“My husband has already been killed. I, too, will be killed. What is going to happen then? Everyone will feel sorry and that will be it.”
Police have finally gotten into action and have arrested a suspect by the name Naeem while other suspects still remain. The mystery suspect, however, Amir Gujjar, has also been identified by the police as the son of MPA Ilyas Gujjar. We still have yet to see how this story unfolds.
