Most cancers are staged based on the size and spread of tumors but Leukemia already occurs in the developing blood cells in the bone marrow and its staging is a little bit different. The stages of leukemia are often characterized by blood cell counts and the accumulation of leukemia cells in other organs, like the liver or spleen.

Making an educated treatment decision begins with the stage, or progression, of the disease. The stage of leukemia is one of the most important factors in evaluating treatment options. Every three minutes, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer and Leukemia strikes males and females of all ages and all races. It does not discriminate!

Recently, we stumbled upon a case of a girl named Yumna Mubarak who’s just 21 years old and is suffering from stage 3 AML type of blood cancer. Yumna’s father is the sole bread earner of the family who is a polio worker and earns 40 thousand monthly to support a family of six people.

The patient has been prescribed with immediate chemo sessions followed by a bone marrow transplant from Agha Khan Hospital Karachi. The family after investing nine lacs. (all the savings that they had) are now unable to afford even the regular treatment of AKU (MR# 206-68-75) so they have shifted her to JPMC where her condition is getting worse.

We need to raise around PKR 60 lac to save this precious life. Least you can do is spread the word. For any kind of details feel free to contact. Ammara Kazi who’s contact number is 03215552322.

Here’s the evidence from Aga Khan University Hospital

Here’s the video that has been circulating over the social media

My name is Hamza Siddiqui and I am student of LLB in Sindh University. I have requested my friends and colleagues/classmates to raise funds for treatment of my sister to whom we had taken to AKUH emergency in life threatening condition because of abdominal distention a week ago in the meanwhile she was diagnosed with AML(type of BLOOD CANCER at severe level) at stage 3.We paid some 9 lacs for this operation and other expenses. We couldn't bear more expenses so after seeing the little stability we moved our patient last night(9th March) to JPMC for initiating primary treatment of chemo. Because estimate of chemo given by AKUH was 25 lacs that we couldn't afford. But after reaching here last night my sister has not been fine and blood is flowing from abdomen where incision was done. The main cause of bleeding is lack of WBC(white blood cells). We are trying our best for her stability. But furthur we need funds for taking any big step towards saving her life.Estimate of just BMT has been given below in pictures whereas taking into consideration the severity of the case we again need to admit her in Agha Khan. Then, this estimate will reach to 70 lacs (with first aid treatment + chemo + bone-marrow transplant) So, I request all of you to cooperate as much as you can with my friends in this cause or directly with me.Mobile : 03453591297Name: Hamza AliMy UBL Account : 241371428Branch Code: 0569Share and tag the relevant people and concerned authorities.
