Muhammad Adnan a young filmmaker and media student at International Islamic University Islamabad will be representing Pakistan in Future News Worldwide 2018 in the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh this July. Future News Worldwide is a partnership programme between the British Council and some of the world’s leading media organizations which identifies trains and connects the next generation of global journalists.

Each year British Council bring together 100 of the world’s most talented, motivated and passionate aspiring journalists for an intensive media training programme with top editors, broadcasters, writers, and reporters. The participants get exclusive coaching and see how publishers around the world are using technology to find stories and bring them to life like never before. Underlying this, the programme will help build strong and lasting connections to the next generation of media leaders across the globe.

“It is indeed a proud moment for someone like me from an underdeveloped and backward area like South Waziristan to represent Pakistan on the world stage,” Said Muhammad Adnan. “I believe as a media student it is a life-changing opportunity, which will contribute to my professional development in many ways. I will be able to interact with some of the top minds in the world’s news media industry.”

Muhammad Adnan is a co-founder of a student-run production house “Gold Studio Pakistan”, a student-run social media platform which promotes harmony and peace in the society and highlight issues that are often neglected by Pakistan’s mainstream news media. Muhammad has also represented Pakistan in the United States as a cultural Ambassador in 2017 through “Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders” exchange program.

“My advice, although too young for this, is to be sincere with your work no matter what you do and prepare for failures,” he said.
