An incident took place in Daska, Punjab where some women were caught stealing goods from a store. A mob of people surrounded them as they sat there bearing the intolerable violence. They were reportedly caught stealing garments in the bazaar when people spotted them, interrogated and once confirmed, incurred their violence on them. Merchants around the store caught them and in stead of calling the police and respectfully dealing with the matter, considering they were women, chose to take the law into their own hands and brutally beat them. They started slapping, publicly abuse and showcased them to shame before a mob of people.

It is clearly visible that these women were holding small children and felt absolutely devasted. The highlight is not that they were found stealing but what happened next, the violence incurred on them and basically how the men chose to react to it. It exposes the horrifying prospect of our society. The prevailing mindsets among the common people who feel it liable to easily take the law into their own hands. No one has any right to incur such violence, especially on women. This incident is highly condemnable and the law enforcement agencies should take necessary measures to track down the individuals involved in the incident.
