Dear government of Pakistan, establishment, and authorities, I know you all don’t get much time to watch TV, but I am somehow pretty sure that all of you must use social networking sites, so about 4 days back you must hear/watch about the sudden demise of our beloved legend Siri Devi. And our great and active media has covered all the steps of her funeral etc.
I hardly got time to see TV, so around 5 days back, I was sitting in front of my TV set and saw the new on a very renowned news channel that India has banned Muslim actors and Pakistani films and this news was really disgusting for us as India have done this many times earlier but the real shocking news was the very next news was and that was Pooja Bhatt is celebrating her 46th birthday!!!
I was surprised by watching this news just after the news of India banned Muslim actors and Pakistani Films. Anyhow, let leave it too after Sri Devi’s exclusive coverage. Because our Pakistani Electronic Media Regularity Authority is busy in solving the cases between channels.
Being in the field of Digital media from last 7 years, I use social networking sites a lot especially Facebook, but nowadays I am in deep grief and pain by using this forum. A number of posts are on the circumstance going on Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Burma, Kashmir, Palestine, Gaza and more heart-wrenching in Syria.
In last 5 days, over 400 people have been killed in Syria and 150 of them were children. I am not so religious person nor I practice my religion to an extremist’s level but for me, humanity is the first priority for every human. No TV channel is showing this side of the war to us, why?? We can cover Siri Devi demise exclusively for 4 days but we can’t even cover the happenings going on in Syria. Well JUSTIFIED PEMRA!!
I am unable to understand why the world is silent? The appropriate question is why Arabs are silent? Where are the United Nations? Where’s the rest of the world? Nobody is here to speak out with any power because it’s not the Jews killing Muslims, its actual people with morals and humanity being killed. And why would our media report this because their domain is to cover a story of a crazy white kid shooting up a school? Our media should all be stripped of their titles no humanity.
I hope our prayers reach to the effective families in Syria and I am sorry for humanity ignoring this outrage. Me being a Pakistani I feel ashamed.
