A Superstore in Islamabad was Caught Selling Pork to the Locals

The news of Pakistanis being served with haram meat continues catching fire as off and on, local authorities bust supermarkets and meat vendors for selling unethical items. The news of donkey meat, snake meat, and rat meat caught a lot of attention the past few years.

The recent revelation exposes the selling of haram meat in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad. Allegedly, it has been stated that a supermarket run by a Chinese was raided and was then sealed for selling pork to locals. Pork, as per the constitution of Pakistan and as per the religious teachings of Islam has been derived Haram and therefore, it is not permitted to be sold.

An Islamabadi customer brought this matter to the attention of Saad bin Asad, the Assistant Commissioner City Police who then raided the supermarket without informing the owner. The Chinese owner was asked to provide the authorities with legal documents and permits and after failing to do so, the Assistant Commissioner demanded to seal the outlet.

Additionally, around 20 to 25 kgs of pork were discovered and taken away on the spot. A whopping fine of Rs. 30,000 was imposed on the owner in addition to sealing the store. However, the supermarket was operational from the very next day, as if nothing had happened.

It has been reported that the Chinese store owner faces legal actions as the authorities have promised to take action against this crime. The authorities have also stated that they will keep the store under supervision for two weeks as the owner vowed to comply with the laws and rules followed by the country.
