The current wave of smog in Punjab is wreaking havoc, causing the people of the province a host of different problems. The combination of smoke and fog is not just extremely harmful to health but has also hurt the visibility of traffic in Punjab.
A tragic incident has taken place in the Hafizabad area of Gujranwala, where a young Rescue 1122 worker lost his life. Noman, a gallant rescuer of the Rescue 1122 team, was on his way to the Hafizabad Highway, responding to an emergency call. Due to extreme smog in the area, visibility of traffic was very low.
Unfortunately, Nouman’s vehicle, the Rescue 1122 Ambulance, got involved in an accident and then fell into the ditch next to the Hafizabad-Gujranwala highway, taking a lot of damage in partial vision.
After sustaining multiple injuries, Nouman was quickly shifted to the Lahore General Hospital. However, unfortunately, the injuries overpowered the nursing/medication and Nouman passed away.
The medical report showed that Nouman suffered multiple injuries including cardiac tamponade, pneumothorax, and brain stem damage. The young soul passed away, leaving his family in pain and in tears, but also taking up the title of a martyr. People on social media are saying that Nouman deserves to be considered as a martyr because he died in the line of duty, trying to help others.
We are extremely saddened by the news, may Allah Almighty (SWT) grant him the highest rank in Jannah and provide immense Sabr to his family and loved ones. Ameen.
