Every 5 years, Pakistanis all over the country rally up to polling booths, casting their vote for their preferred elected members. The same process is used for election in the Sindh Assembly, which never fails to deliver news to the general public.

Be it the speaker Agha Siraj Durrani’s witty remarks or Iqrar-ul-Hassan showing up inside the assembly with a weapon, the Sindh Assembly is home to many dramas. This time, the elected members turned the assembly into a kindergarten class.

The Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Shehla Raza, was giving her remarks and a formal ruling. When the deputy speaker gives a ruling against a notion, it automatically gains importance. However, member Nusrat Sehar Abbasi was in no mood for anything after her mic was muted.

While addressing the assembly, Shehla Raza called Nusrat Abbasi ‘beta’ which means child in Urdu. At this, Nusrat Abbasi turned the tables on the deputy speaker by calling her ‘Ami Jaan’ (mother), making other members of the assembly laugh hysterically.

Both then argue over the mother-daughter relationship and its etiquettes, with the rest of the members seen enjoying the hilarious conversation. The deputy speaker dubbed the incident as ‘perfect manjan’ for the news hubs to criticize and make remarks over.

At the end, the Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza gives Nusrat Sehar Abbasi a stern warning that she should be careful in the coming times. The conversation, however, just serves the purpose of the Sindh Assembly, which is hardly thought of championing progressive endeavors.
