This tragic episode of yet another school shooting has no doubt alarmed the world, however, the bridge must continue for this is the only way to have a more integrated and globalized world. This incident is an inexplicable way of defining a cultural exchange experience, but the number of lives and mentalities that these exchange students change are paramount to the horrors of the world.

Although there is no amount of words to appropriately grieve the agonizing loss of Sabika Sheikh, the process of exchanging cultures must persist, as this was the reason for Sabika’s journey. This loss is a vast erosion of comfort, expectations, and safety, however, at this time, we must come together as humans and work forth with our civility to contribute to more security for these kids. We need to encourage more regulation and control over such incidents. We must thank Sabika for all that she did for her country and this world.

Rest In Peace Sabika.
