Last week, when 27-year-old Naseemullah Mehsud, alias Naqibullah Mehsood was killed, an uproar began which took the whole country in its folds. Initiating from social media, mass protests across the country started taking place.

Ex-SSP Malir Rao Anwar is now the central criminal in Naqib’s murder. After news erupted on social media and tv channels that Rao Anwar had tried escaping to Dubai via flight Ek-615 late Monday night, the Ministry decided to place his name in the Exit Control List.

Furthermore, after the Iqama-gate of Nawaz Sharif and comapny, Rao Anwar’s motives of going to the UAE have become more evident as the disgraced police officer holds a UAE Iqama, which means he has a house and properties in the UAE as well.

First and foremost, it is pertinent to question, that how an 18-grade police officer has a house and other properties in Dubai, with a salary that doesn’t befit the same in the country. Rao Anwar’s career has been doomed with suspicion of killing innocent men, framing their deaths as encounters.

A senior police official told a local Pakistani newspaper, that no police officer is allowed to have an Iqama, it is strictly illegal, while working for the government.

Naqibullah hailed from South Waziristan and worked as a cloth-merchant in Karachi, away from his family. Ex-SSP Malir, Rao Anwar, famous for his extra-judicial encounters, murdered Naqib in cold blood and framed his death as a victory.

Ever since civil society spoke up against Rao Anwar and the Supreme Court took suo-moto action, a police inquiry committee under the leadership of Sanaullah Abbasi had been made against Anwar. The committee came to a result that Anwar and team had killed Naqib in a staged encounter.

With Anwar still in hiding, it is impossible for him to not show face to this issue and continue living in exile. He has to face the consequences of killing a very innocent Naqib Mehsood. Media and public also suggest that over the 5-6 years of Anwar in Malir, hundreds of staged encounters have taken place.
