The disgraced cop that nobody loves anymore, ex-SSP Malir, Rao Anwar, has been on the run ever since he faced the constituted joint investigation team formed in the Naqibullah Mehsud murder case.

According to an unknown man on social media, who posted a video to a page from London, alleged that the disgraced SSP had reached London and landed safely, after coming from Pakistan in a private jet to a private airport. It must be noted here that the man claims that Rao Anwar did not land on a commercial airport.

He seemed to be very confident, as he claimed that Rao Anwar was Karachi’s most-wanted criminal and his sources were trustworthy. He tried to instigate that Rao Anwar took a very prominent businessman’s help in fleeing to London from Karachi.

The emotional video sees the unknown man make claims that this is not the failure of our law enforcing agencies, but the failure of the common Pakistani man and the parents of the people Rao Anwar has killed in his time.

On the other hand, there are claims that Rao Anwar, in his time as SSP Malir, has murdered over 260 innocent people in fake and extra-judicial encounters. People on social media have also been saying that since Rao Anwar was familiar to the Chaman Border in Balochistan, he might have fled to Afghanistan in secrecy.

Today, Sindh Government finally suspended Rao Anwar from his position as well and stripped him off his designation. “With the endorsement of boss clergyman Sindh, the administrations of previous SSP Malir locale, Anwar Ahmed and previous SP Investigation-II, East Zone, Muhammad Altaf Sarwar Malik are set under suspension with quick impact,” a warning issued by the central secretary, Sindh, read.

On the same lines, the man who had placed a Rs. 50 lakh bounty on Rao Anwar’s head, Saleem Jaffar has also been arrested. While the Sindh police claim that they have arrested Saleem; a Facebook post from his profile said that he had surrendered to the police himself.

In the first month of the new year, 27-year-old Naqibullah Mehsud was killed extra-judicially by Rao Anwar and his team. Naqib’s death saw a social media outrage from the Pashtoon community, which later turned into a nationwide protest against extra-judicial killings in Pakistan.

Weeks later, Rao Anwar is still on the run, and if the claims of this man are correct, then this indeed is a great failure at the hands of the State and all its law enforcing agencies.
