The HBL Pakisstan Super League Season 3 will soon be reaching its climax, a season to remember, to say the least. Cricket is coming home and the country is absolutely buzzing about the final, which will be the first time a PSL game is played in Karachi, Pakistan’s metropolitan.

Fans in the country had been waiting for cricket to come home, so they too, could rush to the National Stadium and witness exquisite encounters between the teams they support. Many had been waiting for months for the PSL ticket sales to open. However, when the sales began, it literally shocked everyone.

Within 3 hours of the sales starting, all the tickets were declared sold out. But the thing is, not many people seemed satisfied with the sales, especially in a big city like Karachi. Hundreds of people started venting and ranting on social media, that they had stood hours in line, only to be refused tickets for the final match of the PSL.

The only tickets which are left available, are the VVIP ones that cost Rs. 12,000 — anything lower, even the ones worth Rs 8,000, have been sold out. Now there is a huge controversy to such events every time. Similarly, people have started to believe that gross mismanagement took place while selling the PSL final tickets. The tickets were given to close aids of the sellers, who will now market the same tickets in black prices. For example, if a ticket cost Rs 2,000, it would now be available for Rs. 4,000 in black.

“Minutes before our turn, two police vans arrived and their policemen entered the courier company office. As soon as the policemen returned, the courier staff announced that Rs1,000 tickets were finished and only some tickets of Rs 8,000 and Rs 12,000 denominations were left for the sale,” one fan told a daily newspaper.

“When hundreds of people at the center protested, the courier center employees told us that all the tickets of small denominations were sold out already,” said a woman who had come to buy tickets.  The fact of the matter is that tickets were literally distributed with nepotism to people who wanted them in large quantities. As the final gets closer, the prices of these ‘black’ tickets would increase gradually.

Experts believe that a day before the final, the ticket which is now worth Rs. 12,000 can also go up as high as Rs. 50,000. This mismanagement and shady work regarding the ticket sales has stirred up a controversy which was unneeded for the PCB and other stakeholders of PSL.
