Karachi is the biggest city in Pakistan. It is considered as the backbone of the country. Numerous well known private and public educational institutes are working in Karachi for the well being of students. Education is very obligatory for building a nation and it is a fundamental right of every person.

The education sector is the area where our Government has to do a lot of work to develop strong roots, making sure that each and every person should get quality education.

As I want to discuss the education system in Pakistan, it is considered as a never-ending discussion. Pakistani education system is divided on the basis of class. There are many boards of education in Pakistan, every board is different from the other one which admits their students on the basis of their wealth or stability.

As we talk about the Sindh board, it is extremely useless. Students are learning those topics till now that their parents had studied, it means there isn’t any change of curriculum from 1980s till day.

Students of Sindh board have less power of thinking than Cambridge or other boards. Teachers of Sindh board have destroyed the thinking power of their students.

Now there is a separate board for the elite class in Pakistan. Students who are studying in these boards are supposed to be more respected than other boards. Yes, I am talking about Cambridge board people nowadays used to ask from almost every student that “Are you an A-level burger or Sindh board boi?” Students of Sindh board personally feel depressed in front of Cambridge board’s student. It is not a mistake of students, his/her teacher made him/her thinking power limited, moreover, the fee structure of both boards are too different.

A person who is earning Rs.30,000 to 50,000 per month, he cannot send his/her child to Cambridge school for studying.

The education system of Pakistan comprises of 260,903 institutions and is facilitating 41,018,384 students with the help of 1,535,461 teachers. The system includes 180,846 public institutions and 80,057 private institutions 31% educational institutes are run by private owners, while 69% are public institutes.

Pakistan spends 2.4% GDP on education. At national level, 89% education expenditure comprises of current expenses such as teacher’s salaries, while only 11% comprises of development expenditure which is not sufficient to raise quality of education

There is a need for implementation of national education policy revision 2030 education goals. An analysis of education policy suggests that at the policy level there are several ideas, but practically there are some shortcomings as well.

It may not be possible for the government at the moment to implement a uniform education system in the country, but a uniform curriculum can be introduced in educational institutes of the country. This will provide equal opportunity to the students of rural areas to compete with students of urban areas in the job market.

In my opinion, the government should take a step to raise the voice of students so they have a better ability to think or do some unique work. It will be a great decision if the government sets up only one board in Pakistan.
