One of the most highly rated private schools of Pakistan has come under the usual pressure from civil society as parents of children in Karachi protested against the aggravated increase in tuition fees.
Ordinary parents turned vigilantes against Beaconhouse School System in Karachi. The protest was mass organized by parents who have been paying large sums of amounts from their earnings to the school and are not ready to do so anymore. A good number of parents protested outside the Beaconhouse School System’s regional head office on Tipu Sultan Road.
The Beaconhouse School System, a huge name in the school industry of Pakistan has always been targeted for this one issue in particular. The Beaconhouse school charges a lot of money, which parents now feel is something they are averse to doing. Most students who study in the school either belong to the elite, upper-middle or the middle class. Unfortunately, the poor struck majority of Pakistanis cannot afford to enroll their children in a school of such standard.

The middle class then gets caught by surprise every single year when the school decides to increase the children’s fees.
This is not the first time that parents linked with the school have organized such a protest. Many believe that this is sort of a once a year ritual parents do to try and control the fee hike.
