Muslims around the globe yearn for the Independent State of Palestine. The state of Palestine, which is said to be occupied by Israeli forces since 1967. We have seen Palestinians cry for freedom, we have seen Palestinians fighting for their liberty, we have seen Palestinians being persecuted for their beliefs.

Sometimes the images which are shown to us, make us believe in the cause of Palestinian liberty and the freedom of the state. I recently came across with some mind-boggling facts about Palestine.

The average life expectancy of Palestinians is higher than most of the “Free” Muslim countries. The average life expectancy of Palestinians in 2015 was 73.3 years whereas at that time the average life expectancy of Pakistani people was 67.7 years. Even Afghanistan, Tajikistan, India, Bangladesh, Egypt and Indonesia’s life expectancy was far low than of our Palestinian brothers and sisters.

Then, later on, I searched for the literacy rate of the Palestinian People, I came across the UNDP Assistance to the Palestinian People, I saw that the 96.4% of Palestinian people are literate. It was a shock to me when I realized that their literacy rate is higher than of UAE, Indonesia, Qatar, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia and even Portugal. That was bit of a shock for me, a state which is such in despair, always seeking for the support of Muslim Ummah and crying for help have such a high literacy rate.

I believed that it doesn’t show anything, life expectancy could be linked to the literacy rate, maybe they are a well aware nation. They are getting assistance from United Nations, from the Arab world and even from their neighbors. So, I searched for our good old HDI to analyze that it might be possible for our brothers and sisters to be in need of our help.

You won’t believe what I found out, their Human Development Index was estimated at 0.684, which was higher than Philippines, Morocco, India, South Africa, Kenya, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other 40 countries. I refused to believe that such thing could be possible, we have always been told that our Palestinian brothers are treated badly by their Israeli counterparts, they are harassed, persecuted and tortured by evil Zionists.

There were 55200 Palestinians working in Israel in 2015, it was part of the report issued by Administration of Border Crossings, Population and Immigration. The number increased to around 100,000 in 2017. The minimum monthly wage in Israel is USD 1,243.69. I think you all can do some calculations and understand that around USD 1200 is not a bad minimum wage, whereas in some interviews they Palestinians claim they are earning around USD 57 per day, well personally I don’t think it is bad at all. So, we have covered health, education and living standards and personally, I haven’t seen anything bad at all.

Now let’s analyze the trade between Israel and the State of Palestine, which was in 2013 valued at USD 20 billion. Such as exuberant trade amount led to the formation of Jerusalem Arbitration Center, JAC, which is the joint initiative of Palestinians and Israelis, it is an arbitration body for Israelis and Palestinians.

It resulted in the increase of their GNI per capita to USD 3230 in 2016. Which is higher than other 60 countries, including Pakistan, India. Nepal, Bangladesh, Kenya, Ukraine, Morocco and etc. Similarly, their GDP per capita was USD 2,943 in 2016, which is higher than a lot of countries. Maybe all the economic indicators are misrepresented and miscalculated, they could be the “Yahoodi Sazish” or they could be there to misguide the “Ummah”

Well if the figures are correct then I think our governments should start thinking of their own people rather wasting time and energy on Palestinian issues. Just one more point, there has never been an incident where Palestinians have ever protested on the Indian atrocities in Kashmir but you will always see the Kashmiris protesting on the Palestinian crisis.
