Muhammad Aanish Ayaz Farrukh has written the first English romantic thriller novel of Pakistan at the age of 15, titled Scar the Novel. He is a student of LGS JT who just finished writing his novel, the first of its kind in Pakistan. It took him 7 months to complete it!

Scar the Novel, is based on the life of a youngster from Orlando, Florida. Its story has been inspired by real-life events, in fact, even some of the characters are inspired by real-life humans. The genres are Young-Adult-Romance and Emotional.

The plot of the novel:

Oscar Longford is a freshman who faces intense bullying which always hurts him really bad. Because of Zach, the basketball team captain and a senior, who warned everyone that if he sees anyone talking to Oscar, he would beat them really bad that’s why no one would become friends with Oscar. The one who used to be friends with him insulted him, left him broken and dead inside. After multiple suicide attempts, Oscar ends up in a hospital where none of his schoolfellows come to see him. He was different than most of the kids in school that’s why he always faced discrimination. After 4 years, he decides to commit suicide again. That, until, he is intercepted by a girl named Hannah Mason, who brings new joy to his life.

Here’s what he wants to say about his venture.

Many things happened in my life which inspired to write this novel. I remember the first time being a Literature enthusiast, 5 years ago! I really didn’t know I’d go through so much, ups and lows, wins and losses. Sometimes, all I did was write stories about myself becoming a superhero instead of doing my homework. I remember how I loved to write but hated to read or listen to English. I don’t know what the problem was but, I couldn’t read fluently, I took those pauses, sometimes, in school, I was forced to read which really hurt, I felt like I was choking. Those days, I had everything! Freedom, love, friends, everybody loved me! Everything was in such a good flow, everything seemed easy.

The first novel I wrote was in grade 7, as a wrestling enthusiast but discontinued it because after I finished it, I was told that I couldn’t use anything related to WWE and therefore, I’d have to change the whole thing. Thus, I gave up.

Then, everything changed for me in grade 8! Obviously, the year started as a boring year, but that wasn’t for too long, as after a span of few months, I was called to the principal’s office, at that time, I thought that I did something wrong and he is going to scold me! On our assembly day, I was chosen among school’s top 24 students, the best, to be a school Prefect along with those I never thought I’d ever been standing with.

My novel revolves around a similar story. This is the book for the people who are currently going through similar hardships. This book will teach you the meaning of love and friendship, the importance of life. Teach you to not give up because success and happiness might just be a step away. Believe in yourself. Believe in friendship. Believe in love. Never give up.

I’m writing this novel specifically too, for some people, who mean the most to me! You were the reason, I never gave up and always searched for a reason to smile! I need the support of my nation in this race of literature.

Studying in LGS JT since the beginning, helped me in getting the President of ISEG and Amazon USA to help me. Being a Pakistani teenager, I only care about Pakistan, I want an educated, literate and respected Pakistan. Literature needs to be brought up! Pakistan has a variety of talent and skilled teenagers who need recognition, I remember at the start of my journey, when I was looking for sponsorships, recognition, and support, nobody agreed to help, they said that I am too young for the thing I want to.

Today, I start moving to the climax of my journey as only 40 days remain until I release my book. I believe that my book will inspire much Pakistani’s to choose this field. Gone through a lot, changing shoulder’s, all my emotions are in my book! Scar, The Novel comes out on the 26th of October, mark your calendars.

More power to you, Aanish!
