A new concept that was revealed to Pakistanis by Dr. Shahid Masood, child-pornography, on his baseless allegations, had lead to the arrest of a man from Sargodha. Even though Dr. Shahid Masood had fired an arrow in the dark, saying that the rapist of Zainab Ansari, Imran Ali, had filmed the ordeal and sold it to other countries, the story made way for a detailed scrutiny of such affairs by the FIA.

Sadat Amin, who was arrested last year in a child pornography raid, has been sentenced to 7-years in jail and fined Rs. 12 lakhs after a Lahore court found him guilty of the offences. Sadat had confessed his crime to the police, being part of a child-pornography racket.

The man convicted, who is also a photographer, used to supply child porn pictures to his clients in Europe. He would also make videos of children which were in huge demand in Europe, especially in Norway. For every video, Sadat charges 100-200 Euros, which are equivalent to Rs. 10-20,000.

Not only this, but when the man was convicted, he revealed that he had planned to travel with a few local children to Norway, where preparations were made to film child pornography. The convict, Sadat Amin, was handed the sentence by Muhammad Aamir Raza Baitu, a special judge for cyber crime cases.

The child-pornographer was a part of a world-wide racket when it came to his subject. He had been transferring pictures and videos to Sweden, Italy, Norway, Denmark, United States of America and United Kingdom. After his arrest, the content seized from the man’s possession totaled to more than 650,000 separate pieces of child pornography.

” The world is preparing itself to combat cyber crimes being committed on dark web and deep web, which are emerging challenges for law enforcement agencies across the world. Digital currency is fast replacing traditional currency, and the new generation is spending more time in the virtual world than physical.

To deal with this, the government must wake up to its duty and equip the cyber crime wings with required technologies and address other areas under the Act to deal with this challenge, and also make required amendment to it (PECA),” said an FIA official on the topic.

In January, another man named Taimoor Maqsood had been arrested for sharing child pornography videos and pictures on a global Whatsapp group. He was reported to Pakistan by the Canadian authorities. As for Sadat, he was arrested after a transaction of $30,000 in his account, sent to him by a buyer for his work.
