U.S. administration has once again neglected and rejected the efforts and sacrifices made by Pakistani people, army, and government in the wake of the war against terror. Despite endorsing the sacrifices made by more than 60,000 citizens and 6,000 military personals in our “genuine war on terror,” the Washington administration has reiterated its mantra of “do more.”

It should not come as a surprise that this time, Pakistan should have a straight and simple answer for the Trump administration: “No more”. The time has come for Pakistan to lock its horns with the U.S. on this quagmire.

Pakistan should, without any second thought, suspend NATO supplies. They need to be given an answer in the tone they perceive better. Enough is enough. To hell with the military aid or funds in the shadow of their fraudulent “war on terror”. Moreover, efforts to repatriate Afghan refugees should also be restarted again.

Interestingly, surging of troops in Afghanistan is neither about the “Global War on terror” nor going after the “bad boys”, but it has some other stark intentions hidden behind it. The United States is not leaving Afghanistan. They have intentions to utilize and take away the “un-discovered” Afghan treasures of oil, natural gas, lithium, and other strategic raw minerals, not to mention the billions of dollars they make from the illegal opium trade.

More importantly, the main object for U.S. to stay in Afghanistan is to halt the Chinese-Afghan trade processes and, ultimately, hamper C.P.E.C, which the U.S. think encroaches upon its economic and strategic interests in Central and South Asia. Likewise, the building of a permanent military base in the Wakhan border, which borders West China, is one of the primary aims of U.S. to encircle China, as they have already built military bases in Guam, South Korea, Japan, etc.

Hence, the Pakistani administration should make it clear to the U.S. government that scapegoating won’t work anymore and the coercive statements and threats would not be entertained further or else Pakistan shall no longer remain an ally in the peace and reconciliation process of Afghanistan.
