If there’s one country that the Pakistani diaspora prefers over any other, it’s Canada. Students, businessmen, traders and any other person who is ambitious enough to chase growth, prefers leaving Pakistan for the West, preferably, to homely places like Canada.

Every year, thousands of students apply in Canadian universities for admissions, along with businessmen looking for opportunities to take their assets to the next level. Thus, the news of relaxation in the visa process and immigration to Canada for Pakistanis should be well appreciated.

According to various sources, the Pakistani High Commissioner to Canada, Mr. Tariq Azim Khan hosted a dinner in honor of the Canadian Minister for Immigration in Canada’s capital city Ottawa to talk about the lenient movement for Pakistanis in the country.

During the dinner, both diplomats discussed difficulties that Pakistanis face applying for a Canadian visa, be it, students or businessmen. Thousands of students from Pakistan apply for courses in Canadian universities, with majority failing to secure admission or visa. The biggest issue these students face is the lengthy process of acquiring their visas.

The slow rate of the process forces Pakistani students to apply in other countries or change their subjects altogether. Mr. Tariq told the Canadian minister that Pakistanis deserved an improvement in their visa process, as Canada is home to millions of Pakistanis who bring a lot to the benefit of their country. He also talked about improvement in the trade between two countries, suggesting lenient requirements for business.

Mr. Hussen, the Canadian Minister, vowed that he would look into the process details and make sure that in the future, Pakistanis acquiring Canadian visas, especially students and businessmen, will be given preference.
He also suggested that family reunion cases between Pakistanis and Canadians will be resolved as well, further assuring support for Pakistanis already living in Canada. If things work as discussed, the future for Pakistanis wanting to move to Canada looks nothing but bright.
