Nurses Lay Protest over ‘Unfair Marks’ against Corrupt Exam Controller in Karachi

Nurses in Karachi once again laid protest after having a conflict the administration in their respective hospitals. Nurses currently having training in 2 medical schools in Karachi protested against the administration of Sindh Nursing Examination Board. They accuse the board of awarding them unfair marks and taking bribes from students in order to pass them in examinations.

The trainee nurses claim that the instructors did not give fair marks to them. They undeservingly got low marks and the deserving students got robbed off. They granted illegal privilege to other students who offered them money in exchange for passing them in the examinations. The nurses who have been leading protests belong to Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre and the National Institute of Child Health school of nursing in Karachi.

They named Khairun Nisa Akbar, the board’s controller in the corruption case. They alleged that ever since she took charge, they started dealing with these issues and have now resorted to protests. They even claimed that the board officials asked them to pay hefty fees that the students denied and ultimately a large number of male/female students were failed.

However, Dr Muhammad Taufiq claims that he met with the nurses currently protesting and ensured them that their exams will be scrutinized.
