Social Media Erupts In Anger After Extra-Judicial Murder Of Naqib Mehsood In Karachi

It seems that Pakistani social media these days is the only source of demanding justice for all that is wrong in our country. Yesterday, social media erupted in anger after pictures of a young Naqeeb Mehsud, murdered, went viral in Pakistan.

According to reports and sources, Naqib Mehsood was a resident of Waziristan FATA, who lived in Karachi. A few days back, he and some of his friends were arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department of Police on suspicion of links with militant outfits.

Naqib had moved from South Waziristan to Karachi and started his own shop there. People on social media who knew Naqib suggest that his friends were released after giving bribe, but Naqib was kept back. Mehsood was also a budding model and had dreams of becoming an actor.

It is being alleged that Naqib, during his time with the police, was tortured brutally and was forced to accept crimes he did not commit. After a lot of physical and mental torture, when Naqib refused to accept any crime, he was encountered allegedly by specialists of Rao Anwar.

Naqib was a pure Pakistani at heart, married and had a one year old son. Social media also showcased how Naqib had told a friend that he wanted his son to join the Pakistan Army and become an Lt. in the most prestigious force of the country.

Ever since Naqib’s death, pictures of his modeling career and others of his simplicity have went viral on social media and the case is being condemned by every one.

Some have even suggested that Naqib’s death is the epitome of Pashtoon genocide, especially of the people of FATA.

Naqib, who people often referred to as VEER, is no more, and the picture of him lying down in a pool of his own blood has angered a lot of Pakistanis who are now demanding #JusticeForNaqib.
