Becoming a doctor is one of the toughest challenges for the youth in Pakistan. It starts with the struggles of finding a medical college that accepts them, paying huge amounts of fees, and on top of that, bothering the pressure and expectations that come with the ordeal.

Another case has been reported a few days ago when a foreign medical graduate student has taken his life due to the pressure of exams. Ever year, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) conducts an examination for the foreign graduates. After passing all three steps of National Examination Board (NEB), the successful candidates will get the registration from PMDC as doctors after getting notified by the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination (NHSRC).

One Of Jamal’s Friends Shared The News From His Social Media Account

Another life was taken by tough exams and failures. A foreign medical graduate Jamal committed suicide yesterday evening due to stress. Who is responsible? Parents? Who wants their children to become a doctor at any cost? Or PMDC who apparently having a very tiring nerve-shredding exam pattern for FMGs? First, they spend the best part of their lives struggling in a foreign country away from familes, then a never ending series of exams to prove themselves a doctor and even after passing it. Our system hardly owns them. Very unfortunate, things need to be improved now
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ.

Ameen!

Jamal Was A Nice And Kind Person!

This happened four days ago but PMDC or any government official haven’t talk about the incident yet. We can just hope that the PMDC would look into the matter and put their examination process under consideration to save the precious lives of the students.
