President of PML-N Shahbaz Sharif was sent to Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore on judicial remand in connection with Ashiana Housing Scheme Case on Thursday. He was arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 5th October 2018 and extended the remand multiple times. As Shahbaz Sharif appeared in the courtroom, a chaos took place outside when the police refused lawyers to enter the court. According to police, Iqrar Haider, the Superintendent of Police had ordered them to do so.
Many female PML-N workers tried to enter the courtroom when police barred the male workers and lawyers. In the clash with security officials, many PML-N workers were arrested. PML-N Spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb was participating in the protest and claimed that it was ‘peaceful’. “The baton charge on our peaceful workers shows the incompetency of the government”, said Maryam Aurangzeb.
In the peaceful protest, Maryam Aurangzeb added a uniqueness too with the help of ‘eggs’ she brought in a basket. According to her, the 100 days plan of PTI Cheiftan and Prime Minister Imran Khan was nothing but a failure and that is why she wrote IK’s promises on the eggs!
