Protests are the new hottest thing in Pakistan.Whoever is unhappy at a certain point in their life, takes to the roads to block them, without thinking of the consequences these temporary sit-ins bring to the general public.
Something similar recently happened on the outskirts of Faisalabad. Due to a protest, one of Faisalabad’s most important roads was blocked, where people had gathered to protest against deaths that had taken place in the area recently.
The protest had been causing mass troubles to travelers, who could not reach their desired locations. One man was also in a hurry to get somewhere, but couldn’t manage to get through as there was no way out.
At first, this man pleaded with the protesters that he needed to get somewhere and it was extremely important, but they paid no heed to his demands. After this, the man resorted to a tactic that was unheard and unseen in the country. One by one, he slowly started stripping his clothes, until he was bare naked.
When the protesters saw this man in his birthday suit, it was only a matter of time before they all scattered. Initially, it was a few laughs and pictures, but then, everybody left the road and the traffic was open again. However, proof in pictures and videos remain, that one man was forced to go to such lengths, just to reach somewhere he needed to.
The growing protest and dharna culture in Pakistan is an alarming sign for any society. With these protests, a lot of people are deprived of their livelihoods. Patients cannot reach hospitals on time, men can’t reach their offices and these events only cause chaos, more than good to anyone.
