Lahore University of Management Sciences won the Best Delegation award at the Model United Nations Turkey (MUNTR 2018) held in Antalya, Turkey.
The fourteen-member delegation bagged ten awards, including three Best Delegate Awards, five Outstanding Diplomacy awards, and two Honorable Mentions. The team included Kiran Khalid (Head Delegate), Agha Fahad Abbas, Aysha Ahsan, Bareha Abbas, Inshirah Tahir, Mahnoor Ayub, Mariam Malik, Muhammad Hamza Bin Aqeel, Nikhat Fatima, Usama Nasim, Zarak Asim, Zohair Abbas Khan, Zoha Waqar and Zulnash Shaukat.
LUMS sends a delegation to MUNTR every year, which is one of the largest conferences in the region. MUNTR is sponsored by the NATO and United Nations itself. Nearly eight hundred delegates from different countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, and the host country participated in debating issues of international significance, ranging from extra-judicial killings and labor rights issues to UN reforms.
Other delegations from Pakistan, including Karachi’s Bayview Academy, College of Business Management (CBM) and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) also participated in the event.
The conference took place at Mirada Del Mar, Antalya from 5th-9th March 2018.
