If you have been keeping an eye on all that has happened in Pakistan in the last decade, you might remember the RPP (Rental Power Projects) scam, which put forward corruption of billions of rupees.

The investigation officer from National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the RPP scam, Kamran Faisal, was found hanging from his room in the Federal Lodges, during the course of the investigation. People suggest that Kamran would never have committed suicide, but was murdered for his investigation and honesty in the case.

With almost 4 years having passed, still, the family of Shaheed Kamran Faisal wait for justice. In a similar plea, Kamran Faisal’s daughter has written an open letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Saqib Nisar.

“Dear Saqib Uncle,

My name is Aiman binte Kamran, I live everyday and I die daily too. I am the daughter of the same Kamran Faisal who did not pay heed to the threats from Raja Parvez Ashraf and Co. after he started investigating the Rs. 100 Arab case.

My father was killed because he would not back down and wanted the culprits to reach their just end. People have forgotten my father, surely, but one of my friends told me that you have recently given justice to a widow who was waiting for 17 years. Along with this, you have always spoken about justice, even in the recent Zainab case. All this has given me hope again, hope that you will help us get justice for my father.” (read the rest of the letter in the Facebook post below)

It is evident that Shaheed Kamran Faisal did not commit suicide, but was murdered by culprits involved in the Rental Power Projects scam. Raja Parvez Ashraf and Co. might be living happily today, but the indiscriminate malediction and curse of Kamran Faisal’s family, his little daughter, will never forgive them.

Four years after Kamran Faisal was murdered, Pakistan has almost forgotten about him. Let us remember his great sacrifice, let us remember honest officers, who tried to do the right thing but ended up on the losing team.
