Lahore High Court Lifts Ban on Indian Dramas and it is Not What Pakistanis Wanted!

Pakistanis have had their fair share of watching Indian dramas – the time when was nothing exciting to watch on the local drama channels, many were hooked to the likes of watching Indian dramas where a woman can fall in love with a bear and a woman can turn into a Nagin after marrying the same guy right after he was killed in a road accident.

Knowingly, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) banned the transmission of Indian dramas in our country. However, this wasn’t the only reason. In the October of 2016, after the Uri Attacks took place, the conditions between the arch rivals India and Pakistan were extremely disturbed, to which PEMRA imposed a ban on Indian films airing in Cinemas and Indian television shows.

The Indian sports channels were also banned and cable operators were heavily fined. Cartoon Doraemon also got a lot of attention, given the show was technically dubbed in India, violating the young minds and their speaking skills in Pakistan.

However, Lahore High Court has now lifted the ban and has allowed PEMRA to air the show again.

Conclusively, the issue reads that given that Indian films were openly displayed in the country, banning the Indian dramas held no importance. To all of this, Pakistanis reacted as well:
