‘Strong Family, Stronger Ummah’: Pakistan’s First Urdu Islamic Conference That Invited The Transgender Community

Karachi, August 14:  Azaan Institute, held their first Urdu Islamic conference at the Marriott Hotel.

There were many renowned scholars of Pakistan who participated as a guest speaker in this amazing conference including Qari Sohaib Meer Muhammadi, Ustad Kashif Naseem Dilkusha, Orya Maqbool Jan, Ustad Mufti Najeeb Sahab, Ustad Raja Zia Ul Haq and many others.

The main theme of the conference was family. It revolved around family issues pertinent to modern times and their possible solutions. The conference went by the title: “Strong family, stronger Ummah “.

This conference is also coined as Pakistan’s first ever Islamic conference in which  transgenders participated as well. They admired how they were welcomed and treated with the respect they deserve.

The idea of inviting the transgender community was given by Sister Alaa Shakir who is currently working on their Islamic Education Program. She got it approved by the head of Azaan Institute namely Ustad Kashif Naseem Dilkusha.

As this noble act sends out the message of peace, unity and prosperity, we expect to see more events like this in the future.
