The rape cases taking place in India continue to sky-rocket without any hope of ending. While the toll keeps rising, the judiciary in India takes no measures to control this stomach-churning aspect which prevails in the country. What’s worse is how the locals are so used to it, they would not bother stopping anything like this if it happens in front of them.

While this incident is appalling itself, what makes it even worse is how the passers-by didn’t care to stop this vile animal from what he was doing in a public setting.
According to the Visakhapatnam IV town police sub-inspector K Suresh, the 43-year-old victim left her house two days prior the incident due to a family dispute. “Apparently, she was very weak as she had not eaten for several hours and was sleeping on the footpath under the shadow of a tree, when Siva, in an inebriated condition assaulted her sexually,” Suresh said.
The officer stated that the victim was too weak to scream and the passers-by did not even stop to ask what was happening. “It clearly shows how the people have become insensitive to attacks on women,”

By the time the police reached the rape scene, the culprit had already escaped the scenes. However, he is now captured and will appear in front of the court as well.
The victim on the other hand still experiences a state of shock and hasn’t made any statement.
