There’s one thing most Pakistanis cannot ignore, which is a new car. It is society’s requirement and everyone wants to look and feel good. As soon as new models are launched, Pakistanis start booking their orders with their respective budding car authorizations.

The Indus Motors Company which sells Toyota Corolla and other cars have in a bid to enhance solid customer experience, canceled the bookings of 1300 cars made by potential investors.

What these car investors do is they book a good number of cars as a business investment, and upon delivery, sell these cars at higher prices, making good chunks of profit. Their investments pay dividends because the customer who then buys cars from these investors does not have to wait 3-4 months for the car’s delivery.

However, Indus Motors realized that these investors are the sole reason that regular customers have their cars’ delivery delayed. With investors booking such huge consignments, it gets tough for the company to cater to everyone, which hurts the real customer.

Thus, Indus Motors took the right decision. A regular car buyer who decides to upgrade with every shape is given priority, but what these investors do is they also hurt first-time buyers. Either they get charged more or either they have to wait months for their car’s delivery. The well-thought plan gives a better chance to customers who are buying from authorized dealerships.

The Indus Motors Company (IMC) also advised buyers to only purchase from the 35 recommended dealerships they have given. This is a huge step forward by car companies in Pakistan, which looks to cut out the middleman who creates and then makes a profit from the problem.

Although car investors would look forward to protesting against the decision, it is a very healthy step taken by IMC in the customer-company relationship. Other car companies also need to follow the IMC model of not giving investors a chance to create havoc in the car market.
