On 2nd of October 2017, at 4:25 am while coming back to Pakistan from UAE, I lost my passport at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. I was unaware at that time because I was tired and sleepy so I didn’t check my handbag after reaching home. Next day when I returned from work, I found out that my passport is missing, so I called my cousin to look into his car.

After searching, my cousin told me that he couldn’t find my passport in his car. I rushed to the airport immediately after asking from ASF, CUSTOMS, FIA. Finally, when I reached CAA Information desk, upon inquiring, the guy sitting there called someone and told me that they found 2 lost passports but he didn’t tell me that they have my passport too.

That guy routed me to CAA Vigilance Office to fulfil the necessary requirements. When he used the term “requirements”, it struck me that they have my passport that’s why he is asking me to fulfil some requirements. Then I came to the CAA Vigilance Office and was continuously praying like, “Allah karay yeh khuwar na karwayein”.

After reaching the office, I met Mr Ghulam Hussain Asif (in charge); he was so kind & soft spoken that while talking to him I felt relaxed. Another staff member asked me some questions then Mr. Asif handed over my passport and a staff member took our picture. I requested him to take a picture from my phone too. Firstly, he denied but when I insisted, he asked for the reason.

So, I told him that I really like the way he dealt with me and it needs to be appreciated. He agreed. Then he asked me to bring a photocopy of my passport and after its submission, we talked in a very good environment. He asked, “Beta Kia Kartay Hou”, I told him about myself and then he prayed for me like, “ALLAH Pak Apsay Raazi Hai Warna Itni Rush Wali Jaga Say Passport Miljana Asan Nahi Hai, Allah Pak Apko Kamiyab Karay, Zikar Kartay Raho Hamesha Kamiyab Rahogay”. While leaving, I thanked him for his kindness and while shaking hand he stood up, hugged me and said, “Khush Raho Beta, ALLAH HAFIZ”

These people in governmental institutions should be admired!
