One of the most talked about incidents in recent times, the Faizabad Sit-In has changed a lot of things in the country. From formal agreements between the religious/political party and the government to famous Pakistani celebrities finally leaving the country for good.
The week-long protests which lead to 7 deaths and hundreds of injuries also hurt a lot of businesses. However, one poor man from Islamabad lost everything he had. A cobbler (mochi), Banaras Khan, had his whole shop burned down by angry protesters while he was working near the Faizabad Sit-In.
BBC Urdu covered the poor man’s losses and showcased how the protest hurt innocent people who were doing nothing but trying to win bread for their families. Banaras Khan said that he was extremely poor and this was everything he owned, so he could earn daily wages and enough bread for his family for the day.

However, with the loss of all his assets, Banaras Khan was left in tears in front of the camera. He said that people are coming to him asking for their shoes, boots and other things, but he is left speechless because along with his shop, everything inside burned.
Banaras Khan was working on daily wages as a laborer until an angel arrived out of nowhere. After social media highlighted his story, a man who is still to be identified, came to Banaras’s rescue and paid for all his losses. Everything including his shop and all his tools. Due to people like him, Pakistan still has hope; hope for a brighter tomorrow, where tolerance reigns rampant.

This superhero has still not been identified, but whoever he is — has won a lot of hearts. To help somebody you don’t know and are not related to takes a lot of courage, especially in a country like ours, where fulfilling of personal motives can lead to weeks of protests, causing losses of billions of rupees to the national exchequer.
