Election 2013 conducted. Anticipations circulated. Expectations were high. And orthodox blind following and irrational thinking outperformed the manifesto of Naya Pakistan. Now the real war began.

PTI seemed to claim victory everywhere including news channels, political talks, newspaper and traditional conversations until 11 pm on Election Day. Then, out of nowhere, tables started turning around in the favor of one political party. News Channels made PTI workers dance all day long with the illusion their party is winning, but all in vain. Imran Khan put rigging allegations and claimed results were changed at the eleventh hour. Winning party was not ready to break the bubble it was living in, without having an idea one person is standing in the queue that will turn their fate around once and for all.

When no one was ready to address the rigging allegations leveled by Imran Khan, he decided to take the legal route and knocked on the door of Justice. And all opposition parties stood united against him and left him with an excuse, it was not in their hands to investigate the rigging. Then, Imran Khan aimed to use the man force to support his narrative and chose to go on the streets until the justice has been served. Though, he decided to lead the protest single-handedly; however, Tahir-ul-Qadri joined the party for the 14 people been brutally murdered at Model Town Lahore.

Nawaz Shareef, considering the heat and sheer consequences of the protest, announced full support to investigate the constituencies where, PTI thinks, rigging has influenced and changed the results. But, that didn’t change the Imran Khan’s mind as per the empty promises did in the past. Who would have imagined the protest, that normally takes one or two weeks to get its demands fulfilled, lasted for full 126 days. It’s true, Tahir-ul-Qadri stood his ground without getting panic but he excused Imran Khan in the middle of protest with the argument – his supporters can’t bear the hurdles and atrocities of protest anymore.

Though this didn’t reduce the momentum of Imran khan’s utter resilience, he had to give up on his agenda after the brutal killing of innocent students occurred in APS School, Peshawar. Seeing his efforts didn’t bear him fruits any longer, Imran Khan terminated the sit-in unconditionally. Before I move further, this is the right time to quote Paulo Coelho: “When you want something; all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”

After a failed attempt by PTI to pressure the government, PMLN claimed, they will make Govt. in 2023, let alone 2018. Yes, it takes no money to stay in the fantasy of living forever and ruling the country without being held accountable.

In 2016, there came Panama Papers by German Law firm “Mossack Fonseca” stating almost 400 Pakistani, including Premier, built and owned offshore companies for tax evasion. No one spilled the attention in Panama papers, considering, soon they’ll lose the flavor like other allegations put forward to malign the ruling party. Imran khan single-handedly rose the issue and no political party stood behind him including Jamat-e-Islami and didn’t lend him a bit of support.

Again, he decided to go for a sit-in with his plethora of determined followers to meet his demands and warned he would shut down the whole country. That was the time when Pakistan Supreme Court came into play and took notice of Panama Papers. Rumor: Not to brag but some people thought the fate of Shareef’s dynasty was penned down the day when cricket was invented in 1597.

It took almost one year when Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Shareef as a Prime Minister of Pakistan on the basis of article 62,63 for not being Sadiq and Ameen in terms of declaring his assets and handed over the case to NAB court which took again almost one year to conclude the case and convicted Nawaz Shareef for having assets beyond his source of income as he failed, instead of giving multiple chances, to present a single proof of money trail by which he bought Avenfield’s Apartments in London.

As the 2018 election was looming upon us, people started claiming, though most of them were pseudo-liberals, that Imran Khan could not secure victory as per his poor performance in KPK. But, he took the world by storm and claimed victory with heavy margin – his ideology against corruption prevailed, leaving others political parties in a stutter.

Breaking News: All the organizations and associations canceled their contracts with Pakistan’s Establishment, with the notion – It is too slow and takes 22 years to achieve their goals; procrastinators are still standing in the queue to get its services. For those, the protests and sit-ins were considered as the main source of derailing so-called democracy, started same politics to go on streets in case their allegation of rigging were not properly invested, though they failed to present the single proof of rigging.

I’m not sure what route opposition parties would take to fulfill their demands, but putting rigging allegations by losing side is a norm in Pakistani politics, and PTI itself is not spared from this foul practice. Last but not the least, whenever I feel down and out and fail to get something I dreamed of, I start remembering the Imran Khan’s struggle of 22 years without losing a cent of hope.

I’m happy I have personally experienced that dreams do come true in real time if you have guts to go higher every time than you were standing before you fell down.
