So here we are with a brand new season of Pakistan Super League. Yes, it’s PSL- 3. Woohoo! What a start, so much music so much fun, and so many fireworks. PSL season 3 was kicked start with its traditional opening ceremony held in Dubai, UAE on February 22nd, 2018. The ceremony was hosted by Bilal Ashraf and Hareem Farooq in her favorite shaadi ka jora in a decent manner.
Certain performances were included in the ceremony starting with the first performance by our very own Ali Zafar, who performed on a flying gladiator hanged with the ropes and showed his some moves on the air (reminds me of green goblin in Spiderman!). Other performances include a performance by Shahzad Roy and American singer Jason Derulo. Abida Parveen also embraces the ceremony with her Sufi and magically performance. Lal mere path makes the audience go crazy. And what a powerful performance it was by Abida Parveen.
What’s new in PSL 3 is the addition of a new team, Multan Sultans the newest to the PSL family. The first match is lined up with Peshawar Zalmi the champions and winner of PSL 2 with our new family member Multan Sultans in Dubai. PSL season 3 with its 34 exciting and nail-biting matches will be played in UAE like previous two seasons. However, season 3 is spiced up with the news of finals to be held in Karachi and semi-finals in Lahore this year.
A lot of political drama was witnessed in the previous season of PSL regarding the finals to be played in Pakistan. Hope to see some more masala in this season too. Because being a Pakistani we love to drag politics in every issue no matter what. We simply can’t digest anything without the masala of politics in it. And yes the social media has gone crazy once again right from the beginning of the ceremony. Facebook was bombarded with a lot of memes and #PSL2018 to be among the top trends on Twitter.
When we are talking about PSL season 3 how can we forget about its sponsors and all those irritating commercials played during the matches? The most memorable of them is the kid telling about “how to open an account in your heart”. Yay! Hopefully will get to see this cute kid irritating every cricket fan with his advice again during every crucial moment of the match. Let’s see what this new PSL has to deliver this season to its viewers. Looking forward to a lot of fun-filled cricket this season and see which team makes to the finals and holds the trophy of PSL season 3, fingers crossed.
