The dream of a ‘Naya Pakistan’ seemed like a real possibility with the abrupt end of a corrupt regime, and the judiciary finally recognizing the ill intentions of the former prime minister of Pakistan. And the stage looked set for Imran Khan to lead this nation back to its glory days. But the recent uproar caused by the cries of a former PTI MNA Ayesha Gulalai has squandered our beloved Kaptaan’s legacy.
Many dismissed Gulalai’s claims against PTI as a cheap baseless claim to gain popularity, but it seems like there might be some truth to the claims after all. In a recent turn of events, a very renowned journalist, and a respected figure in Pakistan has spoken out in favor of Ayesha Gulalai and claims to have seen the alleged text messages.
The former Geo News anchor appeared in the show ‘Ajj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’ and claimed that he had seen the alleged text messages sent by Kaptaan to Ms. Gulalai, also in the presence of Ms. Sitara Ejaz, ANP senator. He was asked directly whether the content of the messages are what Ms. Gulalai claimed them to be, Mr. Hamid Mir responded that the content of those messages gives weight to the allegations.
Although he declined to reveal the content of the messages but did go on to say that there should be an investigation on Ms. Ayesha Gulalai’s allegations to have a conclusive result because there certainly is some evidence present in those alleged texts.
Even though many of us had dismissed this controversy as political mind games, but Mr. Hamid Mir’s comments have reignited the discussion, with many even questioning his credibility as a journalist. This news has sparked responses all across Pakistan, with the majority still favoring our beloved ‘Kaptaan’, let’s take a look at some of the responses.
