The growing frustration in our society is evident from the recent rape and murder cases in Pakistan. It seems that the vice has now grown more than ever, gripping its feet in the society.

On the brighter side, different recreational activities and festivals also go hand in hand. Karachi, this weekend, is hosting the Karachi Eat Festival where different people from all over the country have come together and set up stalls, with a variety of different food items.

Where there is so much glam and gathering, something nasty is bound to happen. One girl had to go through a very unpleasant experience just because she went to Karachi Eat Festival. The girl, Eman Siddiqui, took to social media and shared exactly what happened at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park in Karachi, where the event is taking place.

This is what she had to say: “So this guy (in the picture) decided it was okay to grope me at Karachi eat and start running. I grabbed him by his collar. Fell to the ground and abused and beat the shit out of him. A lot of people standing there saw what was happening but no one helped me, except this one angel of a man named Usman. I was shouting, i screamed at the bystanders saying “today its me tomorrow it will be your sister or mother”, but they all just stood there like zombies. I handed him over to the police.

My hands and knees are bleeding. I can still feel his disgusting hand on me. Shame on the people who stood there and didnt do anything, you people are whats wrong in our society. One guy also told me to forgive him i asked him “had it been your sister or mother would you? He was quiet and moved away. And Thank you to Ammar. Who was part of the Karachi eat security team for making me and my friend feel safe. #metoo”

Even though not a lot of people came to rescue the girl, she fought brave and hard and taught her harasser a lesson. Countering their nasty propositions is the only way to keep them away. However, the incident does shed light on the inadequate security system set up at the festival.
