It’s been 70 years that we got our amazing country, which is the blessing of Allah for us. It was the need of the hour. We wanted a free country where we could follow our culture, religion, and values. An Islamic country, Pakistan.

But now even after 70 years, why it’s still hating on both sides? Why is there a display of force and strength with weapons on Wahga border on daily basis? Why we have to spend billions on weapons every year? Why do we have to keep thousands of soldiers on borders every time. I’m sure all this is done for the political purpose.

Most of the people on both sides want peace. Why don’t we just accept the existence and importance of both countries and support each other? Imagine how much trade and tourism potential we have between both countries.

Why can’t we open or soften the borders? We have borders in Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujrat. And all could be considered for easier movement of the people. The starting point should be Kashmir, Let’s sit down and talk Kashmir, there needs to be an India-Pakistan dialogue, Pakistan-Kashmir dialogue, and India-Kashmir dialogue.

Eliminate the politicians from our dialogue and see what happens. Those artificial barriers that separate us must be broken. We have Muslims and Non-Muslims on both sides. People from Dehli visiting Lahore having dinner while sitting on the rooftop in-front of Badshahi Mosque, people from Bombay visiting the beautiful Islamabad on weekends, people from India visiting Swat and Chitral for their vacations.

People from our side go to Agra to visit Taj-Mahal, a weekend visit to Delhi to roam around whole Delhi while tasting famous Chhole Bhature. Bollywood fans going to Mumbai and visit Film City during a short holiday. Travel buddies going to Goa, Manali, Shimla for holidays adventure.

Doesn’t this sound just beautiful? And also it will help to promote tourism industry in both countries.

The young can do it. Dosti (friendship), not Dushmani (enmity)- make that motto for the next generation. No more nafrat. The world is a tired and negative place right now. It’s time to spread love and peace. We have so many affinities. Why waste energy on our differences?
