On the 10th of January 2018, 21-year-old Teresa Hluskova, a Czech woman was taken into custody at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore. The individual was caught smuggling 9kg of heroin from Lahore to the United Arab Emirates. Despite strict controls installed at the airport, Teresa managed to cross two different security checks at first.
The customs personnel, as well as the ANF, Anti-Narcotics Force, took Teresa into custody after drugs worth rs.150 million were caught on her.
The personnel managed to extract some information from the caught individual and have shared that the police are raiding different parts of the city to end the drug operations.
While the Customs Officers and the Personnel Did Somewhat a Decent Job, Pakistanis Were Applauding their Act of Taking Picture with the Smuggler!
The customs officers at the airport took pictures with Teresa despite treating her as someone who violated the country rules and was involved in smuggling.
If it were a different country, the individual caught for smuggling would be busy ringing their lawyer or the cartel officials to get him or her out of the mess. However, in Pakistan, seeing the body language of the woman in the picture, she knows she will walk away freely.
The other possibility? Well, it could be that they all ‘posed’ for the media outlets, but it doesn’t seem like a situation where the woman caught smuggling heroin will go through a penalty or questioning.
