Kelly’s definition of Geopolitics can be deemed quite appropriate, “Geopolitics is a foreign policy approach and an international relations theory that stresses an awareness of relative position among countries and a corresponding response of statesmen to advantages and vulnerabilities that territorial and maritime space may bring to foreign affairs and national security”.

China’s mounting stature among the international lobby has raised many concerned brows as it threatens the sanctity of the mighty West. The interlocking coerced relations between China, India, America, Russia, Afghanistan and of course Pakistan seem to be the center of hot political debates worldwide as a shift of supremacy can clearly be depicted on the horizon of the Asian soils. But a world power from the meager roots of Asia? Along with two heavily armed nuclear-armed states who seem to be at each other’s throats perpetually and to top it off, the emergence the great Russia again? This has definitely got the world community talking.

Amidst all these abnormalities that the 21st century has brought along with it, Pakistan and China keep growing as an alliance that has now expanded from not only political and military terms but social and economic terms as well. It was back in 1951 when Pakistan officially accepted China as a sovereign state and established diplomatic ties with it. And now in 2017, the two states rack their brains over the incompetent establishment of ‘China Pakistan Economic Corridor’ that has made the term ‘game changer’ a cliche.

CPEC will not only give China access to warm waters and save half of its budget that is consumed on importing Oil through the cold waters, it will also give Pakistan a resilient infrastructure worth $11 billion and an over $33 billion worth of energy infrastructures. Furthermore, it has sparked a glistening opportunity among Iran, Russia, Malaysia and Turkey for a reliable investment in Asia, who have avidly expressed their interest.

Not only limiting Pakistan’s emerging distinction to the confines of CPEC, after the withdrawal of the NATO forces from Afghanistan, US, Russia, and China now completely depend on Pakistan as the facilitator for reconciliation with Afghanistan and reestablishment of Middle East’s order. Meanwhile, also keeping into account China’s intensifying economic strength with a 6.9% GDP growth rate that is the highest any country has achieved in the past century, statistics already foresee China as a world power by 2025.

An impartial analysis comes to a verdict that the bilateral ties between the two very important states of Central Asia seem to be growing and will act as a catalyst for maintaining order in the Middle East with an expansion of Chinese influence especially with its ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative.

But then again, considering another perspective to this rhetoric coalition, the towns do hear whispers of ‘East India Invasion 2’ here and there.
