Peshawar, the flower city of Pakistan, holds immense cultural and historic value. From the famous Shohda chowk to the hospitable people who live here, everything about the city makes people want to visit it.

Although Peshawar is considered to be moderately conservative, the people who reside there are slowly opening up to change. However, in the outskirts of the city, religious clerks have come to a decision and will not get you married if your wedding is going to be loud.

By loud, the Ulema mean that they won’t be solemnizing nikkah at a wedding where there would be loud music. The increasing music trend at Pakistani weddings has angered these local clerics who have come to the conclusion of boycotting them.

The clerics did not just take the religious aspect into consideration but also the general impact it has on the people who live nearby. According to them, the loud music, speakers, and DJs distract people in their sleep and these weddings that go on till late night are to be avoided completely.

The Ulema believe that the decision is in the best interest of the public and will go well with the people. Some locals have backed the decision and agreed to the fatwa of clerics not solemnizing nikkah if the wedding hosts loud music.

Not just will the nikkah get canceled, but if there is a breach of the set laws, the person responsible will also have to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000 if he is caught. The Ulema have formed a 30-member committee which will be responsible for taking decisions on the said topic.
