Life is full of colors when you are a kid. From being an infant to adolescent, a child is in a nutshell overly protected by his parents; especially daughters. Playful, carefree and dreamy… she is treated like a princess living in her father’s palace.
Life was similarly vibrant and joyful for this Karachi-based 13-year-old when a beast invaded her dad’s palace. Innocent school going Ayesha Rashid loved to paint, color, play with dolls and spend time with her elder siblings. Little did she know that her small, simple world was about to be destroyed by a disease. This unpredictable disease was a life-taking heart disease namely Cardiomyopathy (DCMP) which leads to heart muscle enlargement.

Her heart is functioning only 25% to 30 % which ultimately is leading towards heart failure. Ayesha Rashid’s family is trying hard day in and day out to save their apple of the eye by visiting the best doctors in Pakistan and even abroad. Initially, doctor Mehnaz Siddiqui, one of the best Paediatric Cardiologist admitted her several times in the emergency department at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKU)
Sadly, all the doctors are losing hope now since the only treatment option left is heart transplantation. There are rare to no institutions performing this transplant in Pakistan. The Rashid family applied for the medical visa of India and United States of America (USA). Their world turned upside down when their visa got rejected.
Such Inhumanity!
This family didn’t give up. They could see a last ray of hope through social media. The devastated mother grabbed people’s attention by making a heart-wrenching appeal on social media for prayers suggestions and donations.
