They so what goes around comes around, that is exactly what has happened in India. Ever since the Sri Lankan team was attacked in Lahore, the Indians had slated Pakistan as an extremist nation with security flaws and a lack of sportsman spirit.

Yesterday, the Australian cricket team was attacked by extremist Indians in Guwahati after they defeated India in their second Twenty20 International Match. The team was attacked while returning from Barsapara Stadium.

Apparently, while the Australian team celebrated their way to the team bus, the smiles on their faces angered extremist Indians who took the defeat a bit too bitterly. As soon as the team got inside their bus, rocks were thrown and windows were shattered. Fortunately, no harm was done to the cricketers.

This incident indeed is a breach of security and if rocks can be thrown, the Australian team could have been physically harmed too. It was also possible that players sitting next to the windows could have been injured. The incident was exposed by Aussie cricketer Aron Finch who took to Twitter and wrote: “Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way back to the hotel!!”

Finch’s tweet was retweeted by stand-in captain of the Aussie team, David Warner. The Australian cricket board at Cricket.com.au reported that “while no one was injured, the Australian players were understandably shaken up by the incident. Players and staff were traveling from the ground back to their team hotel when someone threw a rock, believed to be roughly the size of a cricket ball, at a window on the right-hand side of the bus. The projectile pierced through the glass and ended up inside the bus, shattering the window”.

This indeed is an incident of karma. India’s blatant remarks over the years of Pakistan not being safe for cricketers is backfiring. With one more game in the 3 match T20 Series still to go, the Australian team would be looking to get out of the country as soon as possible. It would be interesting to see if the security breach is denounced by other international teams in the future as well.
