The people of Pakistan are known as avid foodies, absolute gourmands who spend a good amount of money annually on dining out. The plan is to taste different dishes from all over the world in fine-dining restaurants for some, while others resort to desi food outside their humble abodes as well.
A very tragic incident has come to the country’s notice recently when the sons of Ahsaan Dangra, 2-year-old Ahmed and 5-year-old Muhammad passed away under mysterious circumstances. The children, allegedly, had eaten poisonous food on Saturday night, which led to their deaths on Sunday morning.
The children’s mother had accompanied them to a local posh eatery in Defence, Karachi, the Arizona Grill. After eating food there, the family went to Chunky Monkey, a small amusement place next to the Sea in Defence. As per reports, the kids had consumed candy there.
On Sunday morning, the children started vomiting, before they lay lifeless in front of their mother, who too got extremely sick and was admitted to the hospital. She, however, is out of danger now. Upon knowing, their father who was on a business trip to Lahore returned immediately and police were able to persuade him to conduct an autopsy for one of the children.
Since the incident hit the internet, the restaurant, Arizona Grill, has been receiving a lot of criticism in hate. As it should be, the restaurant since then have published their response on their Facebook page:
“Healthy and nutritious food are the fundamental pillars of any restaurant. Arizona Grill proudly upholds these values and provides every customer with safe and healthy food. Last night, the esteemed police officers of Karachi conducted their investigation and moved on after clearing the restaurant. We wish them well on the finding the root cause and upon hearing the dreadful news, Arizona Grill would like to offer their heartfelt condolences.”
After their response was published on social media, people went on to comment below the post. Some spoke in their favour, while others were oblivious and adamant that the mistake was at the end of the restaurant.
The page commented on their post saying: “Arizona serve on spot cooked food, A properly cooked meal can never be poisonous.”
Somebody challenged their logic, stating: “Are you for real ?? A properly cooked meal can never be poisonous? You need to fire the agent who handles your social network LMFAO.”
Some asked if they had been cleared from the investigation to this, Arizona Grill stated that: “Arizona being cleared is a small news content, you will never see this on news channels but, a true food lover knows the quality and value Arizona provides.”
Others were extremely angry, making their opinions heard in a loud and straightforward manner. However, this whole ordeal, for the restaurant, does not seem to good.
